Why are all these my Fall MUST have items? Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

These are a few of my MUST have items for the fall season.

As you all know, or don’t know – I’m a cosmetic and luxury skin care junkie. I love everything about this time of year, except – dry skin and dull make up. I want to share a few of my favorite skin care items and other luxuries , well 15 to be exact that you’ll fall in love with to.

Working in luxury for many years, I’ve learned a few things about what works and what doesn’t. We all spend tons of money on the latest gimmicks and falsely advertised products, that end up with a drawer or bin full of hopeless promises. Instead of hitting your local cosmetic mega store and getting overwhelmed by the bright lights and crowded aisles, I’ll give you my top picks and why I LOVE these items so much. Most of these products can be found at your luxury retailers and online stores. I love shopping at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus for a few and Sephora for others.

If you abused your skin during the summer, by over tanning or just partying too much – rejuvenate your skin and take it easy this winter. If you’re getting ready for your wedding or a special event, start now, most skin care products take about 4 months until you see results. Rome wasn’t built in a day people!

Here are my Top picks and why:

Starting from left to right top to bottom:

Kevin Aucoin  – Sculpting powder – Gives you the illusion that you have a chiseled jawline like Kim K.  and J.Lo.

Chanel  – Le Weekend – You abused your skin during the week from your stressful job, not enough sleep and dehydration. You use this product twice a month only and you eliminate your other skincare items.

Diptyque  – Feu de Bois Candle – seriously it smells like burning firewood, enough said!

AmorePacificCushion Compact – I’m not a foundation person but this healthy glow compact offers SPF 50 with light color. Perfect for a fresh face look.

La MerRevitalizing Mask – If your skin is feeling a bit dehydrated and you need an extra boost. This mask also tightens and brightens your skin at the same time.

MAC –  Viva Glam Rihanna Red – It’s the perfect red with a hint of gold shimmer. Your doing good as proceeds go to AIDS research.

Tom FordTuscan Leather Cologne – Once again, the sexiest fragrance and its unisex. If Drake loves it, well, I love it too:)

NarsOrgasm Blush – It’s the perfect once size fits all blush. Anyone can wear it !” Ang what blush are you wearing – Orgasm”.

LancomeGenefique – It’s a Youth activating serum that can be worn with other serums. I can’t live without it.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz – The easiest and quickest way to shape your brows when you don’t have any.

Trish McEvoyInstant Eye Lift – This is another must have and I carry it in my bag all the time. It contains hyaluronic acid so it hydrates and it brightens. Create the triangle of light and your good to go.

Kevin Aucoin – Celestial Bronzer – I love this bronzer because of the light reflectors in it. I pair with the sculpting powder to give a contoured look.

Alterna CaviarCC 10 – This is the band-aid product that repairs all damage you’ve done to your hair.

AmorePacific Time Response Eye Cream – OBSESSED with this eye cream, tackles all 5 signs of aging around the eye area – I’m a believer and it works.

Lancome  – Grandiose Mascara – The only swan like wand that makes your lashes look like extensions. I wear mine with the matching primer.

xo, and happy shopping:)

Last Friday we had the pleasure coordinating Alex and Greg’s wedding at The Lakehouse Inn. These high school sweethearts booked us 2 years ago for their wedding. We were delighted to work with them and give them a few vendor suggestions and making their event a success.

I was moved by this wonderful note that Debbie Brooks (mother of the bride) emailed. Praise like this makes my job most fulfilling and I couldn’t have done it without my team- Sarah and Kelsey, and of course the professional partners. Thank you David, owner of Rosetree Films for making their day with the teaser you sent to them yesterday- YOU’RE THE BEST!

Check out the teaser by clicking the link below:)

Dear Angela;

How do I begin to thank you for making my daughter’s wedding, “THE WEDDING OF THE CENTURY” as our guest refer to it now, one of the best days of our lives! It was two years in the making, and well worth all the anticipation. Our guests were astonished by how magical and ethereal the day was. You and your assistants turned what would have been a stressful and anxiety filled day into a complete magical, stress free, laid backed and enjoyable day. You took all the worry and stress out of a normally crazy day and turned it into a day to remember! My daughter and I enjoyed every minute of every hour without having to worry about anything but enjoying the day. You made that happen! I cannot thank you enough for that. We new Alexandria’s wedding was going to be beautiful, but WOW, even the rain couldn’t dampen the mood or the magic of the day. From choosing the vendors (which were AMAZING) to the set up, the time line to the things that I never would have thought of. You did an incredible job. You were meant to be a wedding planner. You are the Best!!! Our guest couldn’t stop commenting on the “Wedding of the Century”. You gave my daughter and her new husband the best gift that could be given, MEMORIES OF THE BEGINNING OF THEIR LIVES TOGETHER!! You captured that from the venue at the Lake House Inn, to the best photographer ever, Shea Roggio to the incredible David, of Rose Tree Films. David actually had a droid plane fly over the venue and take Ariel photos!! WOW!! Really, that is amazing!! Biz the DJ, awesome also. Our guest danced the night away. Petals Lane, OMG the best florist ever!! Brittany is a breath of fresh air. She makes you smile. The love she puts into her art is magical. From the centerpieces to bouquets’ to ceremony set up and beyond it was breathtaking! The flowers were beautiful, but not over done. The wedding is described by guest as modern elegance with a vintage feel. Brittney nailed it. Angela, I could go on for days thanking you for everything and I still not come close. So I will say this, If it wasn’t for you, my daughter’s wedding wouldn’t have been the Elegant Affair that it was with memories to last a lifetime! All weddings cost money to have, but you made it well worth every penny and more. A wedding wouldn’t be a true masterpiece without ANGELA MALICKI putting her stamp on it. Please if anyone is planning a wedding, make sure it includes Angela Malicki! For weddings that will be Enchanting and talked about for years to come, Ang is your girl!

Love and gratitude from the bottom of my heart,

Debra M.Brooks
Mother of the bride

Another happy client- Hotel Monaco Philadelphia- Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner- Angela MALICKI events

We love receiving emails from our clients, especially 2 days after their wedding. Thank you Marykate and Dan for having us be a part of your special day!

Many thanks for helping us create a practically-perfect experience for our daughter’s wedding. From your guidance with both competent and helpful vendors, to the unique and beautiful invitation/ paper goods design, to the on-going communication throughout our year-long process, to the creation and tweaking of our wedding day time-line, to your coordination efforts with the hotel staff, to your helpful staff members and all the suggestions, hints, and ideas that enhanced our experience… your services literally MADE our day.
Speaking of the day…we just put ourselves in the hands of the pro and EVERYTHING was handled seamlessly. Our experience was stress free…if there were any glitches…only you knew, you handled them and we were free to just have a ball!
Most impressive was your debrief of our event two days later to get feedback on your service and to provide feedback to the venue. We would not hesitate to recommend you and your staff to others, and we would encourage anyone planning a wedding to consider giving themselves the gift of having you involved.
Thank you again for all that you, Kelsey and Jenna Rose did for us on Saturday, June 28, 2014.

with thanks,

parents of the bride

Maryfran and Bill

10 Things to do BEFORE the Big Day. Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner -Angela MALICKI events

You’ve planned the perfect event so far and checked off all major details. Now it’s your turn not to forget what’s on your personal checklist. The morning of, you should be enjoying time with your “maids” sipping on mimosas and listening to Pandora, not stressing out about forgetting your Judith Leiber clutch at home that you received as a gift from your auntie in Boca! Here are a few tips that we know will make your day stress-free. Number 10 is my favorite and might need a couple repeats 🙂

1.Decide what to wear while getting ready: The night before the big day lay out your getting ready clothes for the next morning. You don’t need a Bride labeled outfit or monogrammed robe but definitely put some thought into what you will wear while getting ready.  You most likely will be photographed while getting ready, so keep that in mind and try not to wear a shirt or dress that you need to pull over your finished makeup and hair.  Try to find a cute button down dress or really anything that buttons or zips so it is easy to change!

2. Pack your day of clutch: You won’t need much on your wedding day, but you will want to pack in a clutch some emergency items.  You should think of packing breath mints, tissues, a travel size deodorant, and a list of your vendor’s and their phone numbers. Just to be safe!

3. Pack everything in one bag! The morning of your wedding you will not want to be running around trying to get everything together.   Try and pack all of your things in one bag the night before so your morning is easy and you can just pick it up and go.  You should pack your getting ready wear, all of your jewelry that you will wear on your wedding day, your wedding shoes, any hair accessories, and your day of clutch.

4. Buy and pack a cute pair of flip flops or flats! This is a HUGE MUST.  You might be a girl who can wear heels all night while going out with friends, but your wedding day is a long day.  You don’t want to risk your shoes hurting your feet and not have a backup plan.  Pack comfortable flip flops or cute flats that you can change into! That way you will never have to worry about not being able to dance all night and have a great time at your reception!

5. Have a back up hair plan: You never know how your hair is going to react to the weather that day or if you end up not liking the way your stylist did your hair.  The week leading up to your wedding try out some hair styles that you can do yourself with your own products.

6. Surrender your cell phone: The night before your wedding you don’t want to be stressed out dealing with last minute arrangements.  Give your cell phone to your maid of honor or your mom to take those last minute phone calls about where to park or what time to come.  That way you are only handling phone calls that require your attention.

7. Write your last love letter as a fiancé: I love this idea to write a love note to your groom the night before the wedding.  That way the next morning you can give the letter to one of the groom’s men to hand off to your husband to be.  He can read it while getting ready before the wedding and get him even more excited to see you walk down the aisle.

8. Find some time to relax: The week leading up to your wedding you need to set some time aside to yourself. This would be a perfect time to get a mani-pedi or just go to the spa and get a massage.  After all you deserve it! You have been working hard planning your wedding!

9. Plan some alone time with your fiancé: The last month of planning your wedding can be stressful and your mind can sometimes be clouded with last minute wedding to do’s.  Plan a night with your fiancé that is wedding talk free.  Just be with each other and enjoy a night without the worry about how the table settings and flowers are going to look.

10. Practice the first kiss as husband and wife! Last but definitely not least! Practice the kiss with your fiancé! This can’t ever hurt!

Angela + Christopher – Sneak Peek Part 2 – Black/White and Hot Pink Damask Invitations – Philadephia Wedding and Event Stationery Designer – Titus Print/Angela MALICKI events

Last year when Ang and Chris were planning their chic city wedding, they wanted their stationery to reflect what was to come that day. We started the design process with their wedding colors – Black, White and hot pink. Angela loved damask has her bold pattern and we ran with it. We started with their Save the Dates that were mailed last December. Angela and Chris wanted something simple yet elegant, so we designed a heavy cardstock double-sided postcard with the couples picture from their engagement session, damask pattern and wedding information. Simple, yet perfect.

I love the finished invitation, complete with double layer belly band and monogram

I love the finished invitation, complete with double layer belly band and monogram

Time for the wedding stationery design process – my favorite part! I met with Angela earlier this year and started brainstorming. The couple wanted a pocketfold to keep all event information together, damask and hot pink ofcourse. I started sketched out a few ideas by incorporating the couples logo that we were to design. The end product turned out FABULOUS! The custom invitation consisted of 3 layers nestled in a black sold pocketfold. The top layer was printed on a subtle white shimmer stock in 2 color thermography (raised printing) and passed again for the damask pattern in flat. The bottom layer was hot pink and middle a ballerina pink, which we used the same color for the menu cards.’

The outer black envelope was perfectly lined with hot pink handmade hand Lokta paper completed with white hand calligraphed lettering. Quick note: Before buying all your posted, take a complete set to the post office to get weighed for the proper rate.

Thank you note and Save the Date

Christopher, man of all trades, actually made the wedding favor – yes, a groom getting DIY on us. He made homemade Pinot Grigio for all the guests and he needed labels for the bottles. We utilized the logo from the invitation and customized it for the bottles for an easy application. They were cute 2×2 stickers that fit perfectly on the glossy wine bottle.

I love the 3 tablescapes designed by Petah Bashano – you can see the wine bottles made with love by Chris with the custom labels we designed. photos by Alicia Madonna for Angela MALICKI events and Titus Print

The menu cards looked GORG, it was hard saying good-bye to these beauties – double layered cards – top layer matching entire stationery suite, including the couples logo and completed with ballerina pink satin ribbon.

Their placecards were kept simple but still incorporating the damask print and same fonts.

Damask Placecards

Their rehearsal dinner invites were double layered with matching white hot pink lined envelopes.

Catholic Ceremony Pink Programs

We utilized the second layer from the invitatios with the ceremony programs. I love the way they turned out complete with the couples logo – http://www.titusprint.com

I was soo excited to hear that Shutterbooth was participating at the reception. The couple wanted to do something amazing with the photobooth – what can that be – well, a Shutterskin would do the trick. We designed a life size print that mounts on the photobooth itself to create a WOW factor for guests to see while striking a pose!

My favorite WOW piece had to be the custom white dance floor. We designed the black logo for the couple and guests to enjoy – I have to say the first dance on this floor was AMAZING!!!!!

I had a blast working with Angela and Christopher on their wedding stationery and my team enjoyed every minute coordinating Day of. Love you guys!!!

WHATEVER I want for a Year – Valentine’s Day part 10 – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

DIY Valentine's Day Coupons

I remember one of my “past” Valentine bought me these “coupons” from a local card store. And I thought, this is cheezy – but cute. Later on, I put a twist of my own on them when giving them to my Valentine. I thought of the little things that he might like and incorporated it into a note card.

These came in handy for certain requests. Ofcourse, he always wanted to use the same one over and over again – we can figure out which one!

These were real easy to make:

Hand Draw a heart of cute image

Use a scanner to import it in your computer.

Set up document to 4.25×5.5 and place image where ever you prefer

Set up text and the rest is up to you.

Depending on the program, set up document with four copies – print and cut to size

If you want to make it a little cuter, add a colored stock for the backing and tie with ribbon.

Hopefully this was easy for you!
