Cairnwood Gala – Blast in a glass, tent, mansion, box whatever! – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

Yesterday Ashley and I attended the Cairnwood Gala in Bryn Athyn. We sponsored the swag boxes that each couple left home with. Ok, what is a “swag” box? I know, in Hollywood all the celebrity attendees receive a “thank you” box for joining the event. We designed our box with the guests in mind. What was in the Box???

What would be a great starter, for me, after every event, wedding whatever, I have the munchies, so we partnered with our good friend Maki, owner of Cupcakes Gourmet in Wayne. Maki designed yummy cupcakes for each box. DId I mention there were 200 boxes! Next, we got the food part down, Donna, owner of Beautiful Blooms donated cute flower shaped votive. I love body products and all things beauty, Kiehl’s in King of Prussia designed goodie bags filled with all sorts of product that is perfect for men and women. Who doesn’t love that. Deb VanCleve owner of the Van Cleve Collection, graciously donated gift cards to her fabulous boutique on the Main Line. Montgomery County Local business Lux Interiors donated a gift card and trinket wrapped in a box. Lastly what did we put in the box. We wanted to show our custom print design services so I hand drew a picture of the Cairnwood Mansion, yes, seriously I did. We them had them printed into note cards with matching envelopes and color liners.

This event was so much fun and we were happy to a part of it and working with great business partners. Check out the pics for yourself

So we first started out with 70 sheets of Lokta handmade paper. The sheets were huge, and we cut them down to fit the envelopes. All 1000 of them!!! They had to be perfect, thank god for that guillotine cutter that Todd bought me. A vintage one to, oh I almost chopped my fingers a few times!

This is the finished product! A set of note cards wrapped with a belly band with our logo. Check out the drawing. Cute.

So my house looked like a storage facility, not fun for titus at all as he loves to hang out in the dining under the table. The boxes were a solid white gloss then completed with a tiffany blue ribbon and our logo on a sticker.

***Great touch for customizing your packages or goodie boxes for your out of town guests for your wedding or event.

Ashely and I walked into this GORGEOUS archway designed by Beautiful Blooms, this was a great start to the event, next, when you walk through out the mansion, there are many rooms, the top center pic was Feastivities Events display. They created a great food and floral set up with different cheeses and other treats. The center bottom was designed by our good friends at Natural Designs Floral. They really out did themselves with this great rendition of Maxfield Parrish ”Day Break”. Of course, Ashely to the right here in the tent outside of the mansion. I love the arch here. She looks great in her purple dress!

CAIRNWOOD6
When walked in to the tent, immediately we saw a Swinging Fairy. of course Sandy O, owner of Creative Juice Group, was involved with this. If you have never attended an event with a Creative Juice Group Flair you are missing out. Check out her site. We were also part of the silent auction as well. Our wonderful drawing of the Cairnwood Mansion was auctioned off. We donated 3 prints and all sold. Those years in art schoolpaid off.

And here we are again, I had to have a pic of me and Christina owner of Paper – Rock – Scissor.

Gigi and Jamal’s Center City – Ballroom at the Ben – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner

I absolutely loved Gigi and Jamal from the first time we met last year. Gigi, a full-time grad student in nursing , needed help with her planning process. They hired us for full service planning from beginning to end, including all of their print needs. Gigi and Jamal, both laid back and fun loving were a delight to work with during the design and planning process. The couple chose the exquisite Ballroom at the Ben, nestled in the Ben Franklin Hotel in the heart of Center City Philadelphia. This turn-of-the-century venue featured large crystal chandeliers, marble hallways and baroque mill-work throughout the ceiling and columns. You truly felt transformed, going in back in time.

Their ceremony took place at the Calvary Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Not one pew was empty, as all 190 guests witnessed Gigi and Jamal’s nuptials. Gigi wore a stunning bustier dress, delicately beaded with a criss cross pattern. Her dress was from the Jewel Collection for Priscilla of Boston. The best part – it had POCKETS! She carried a beautiful bouquet of Vandella white roses and calla lilies. After the couple said “I Do,” everyone gathered in front of the church for a group photo, that was something very important to the couple. Phil Kramer – photographer, that shot perfectly.

Capitalizing on the wedding reception location in Center City, Phil took the entire bridal party to the steps of the Art Museum for a few photos. It was a perfect backdrop and way to end the afternoon. While photos were being taken, Eric (my FABULOUS assistant and stylist), headed over to The Ben for a final walk through. Everything was PERFECT! The room was set to perfection. The couple’s table-scape was design was a team collaboration. Tiffany blue satin overlays were draped over each table, completed with perfectly folded ivory napkins topped with custom designed menu cards, designed by Angela MALICKI events. Each menu card was adorned with three  Swarovski crystals. The centerpieces ranged from high to low, containing white roses, hydrangeas and orchids. Each centerpiece was precisely pin spotted to give the tables that extra POP!

The couple’s first dance was touching, their song was  ”That’s How Strong My Love  is”by Alicia Keys (I love that song). After the toasts and dinner, the crowd packed the dance floor. Their DJ flew in just for the event from Virginia Beach. I felt like I was in a club, listening to all my favorite jams, from old school hip hop to new age dance, not to mention the oldies but goodies of smooth R & B. We had so much fun, and we thank Gigi and Jamal for letting us be part of their day. The couple honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

We love you both and wish you the best!

Check out the bead work on her dress. This Priscilla of Boston Gown fit Gigi like a glove, and did I mention – it had POCKETS! It is yet another trend in bridal wear that has made a comeback.

Gigi looked STUNNING,  a birdcage veil, which she replaced with a beautiful Swarovski headband at the reception. Her jewelery was her mother’s pearls

The bridesmaids wore  beautiful Tiffany Blue taffeta dresses with a rose florweret trim. Each girl carried a floral arrangement of Mango calla lilies and coral roses, completed with long stems of Bear Grass, tied with coral satin ribbon.

What a great idea. The couple chose a seating chart that had a favorite image from their engagement shoot. No placecards here. With 190 guests, this was perfect. Thanks to Eric’s monitoring of this area, there were no wedding crashers here!

The Tiffany Box cake was designed by Brown Betty’s in  Northern Liberties. It was a 4 tiered square cake. Completed with pink edible cherry blossoms.

Jason and Noreen Part three – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

I told you that I would have fabulous photos of Jason and Noreen’s wedding and I do, thanks to the phenom Siobhan, owner of dollface studio. Their Independence Day weekend wedding weather was perfect. Noreen looked like an old Hollywood Scarlett with her classic touches.Their reception took place at the Union League of Philadelphia. The staff there were great to work with. A special thanks to Abby, Ramone and most importantly Shereena! Jason and Noreen were a delight to work with and I was proud to work with this great couple.

0044
Noreen’s Nina shoes were SPECTACULAR! Her something blue as you can see are the crystals that say it all.
0054
Noreen’s dress was by Oleg Cassini, a designer sold at David’s Bridal. This dress fit the theme perfectly.
0133
I love this tradition. Noreen incorporated part of the scripture with this symbol. Cord of the three Strands. You can find this on www.godsknot.com

The bridal party was gorgeous. Everyone traveled from all parts of the US to be with Jason and Noreen, ofcourse J&N traveled from Georgia. Here this pic was taken at Elfeth’s Ally in Old City

This was priceless, Jason thanking eveyone and professing his love to Noreen. Jason is the true “Gentleman”Man. He get’s it from his father, who is also a class act!
Take notice of the linens. I had created their table scape that consisted of white linens, teal shimmer organza overlays, sultan red satin napkins (that my assistant and I folded in the envelope fold – all 130 of them) and hand blown glass votive disks in red and teal.

The floral design consisted of tall cylinder vases with large alll white flowers from roses, hydrangaes, stock and lilies. The room smelled wonderful. Thanks to Jeff Sell of Natural Designs
