What do these things have in common – cigar roller, casino tables, photobooths, firecrackers and caricature artist? Sounds like one bleep of a party to me! – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

So you’re probably wondering what do games and activities have to do with your wedding? Well if you haven’t heard by now, games and activities are the new “to do.” As we all have probably experienced, there are a few “wait” times before and during the reception where everyone stands around drink in hand. Well, this is the time for you to come up with something creative!

Great idea for a gaming room. This wedding took place at the Glen Foerd in the Ratskelter, it was so much fun. photos www.artoflove.com

Some of our own past clients have done activites and it was a huge success! We have had casino gaming rooms with cigar rollers and wine tasting as well as fun hip lounge with Photobooths, candy bars and flatscreens playing “Beerfest”!

Although some guests may think activities are a little corny, we all have an inner child, so why not let it out? So while your guests are waiting for you to take pictures and touch up, have some great entertainment!

1. Have your cake decorated during cocktail hour – Bakeries are now offering cake decorating at your wedding! Now of course, you must have a simple cake that may only take an hour or so to decorate. But who wouldn’t love to see the creation that they get to divulge into later?

2. Couple Trivia – You can make this as simple or as complicated as you wish. Type up some questions about the bride and groom, hand out the quiz and see who knows the most! (I have done this before at a wedding, and it was a lot more fun than it sounds!).

3. Photo booth – We all know that we can’t say no to those fun photo booths. You see them in the mall or on the boardwalk – why not at your wedding? There are a few companies out there now offering this service. All you do is rent it and let everyone have some fun! Some places offer a live video of inside the photo booth which can be a screen so all the guests can watch the fun. Photos are then printed out for a fun favor!’

As you can see, we get into the fun to. I have a cork board full of these pics. You can also customize the strip with your logo printed on them. Several were taken by our good friends at Go Festive!

4. Guessing Jar – This goes back to school days when during the holidays you got to guess how many jelly beans or M&M’s were in the jar. Simple and easy for all the guests to enjoy! The winner gets to take home the jar of goodies!

Seriously, the candy bar is the hit at every wedding and event. This is a great idea for a favor option. Perfect snack when your done partying at night and you have the munchies. photo by www.dollfacestudio.com

5. Advice Box – You have probably heard about the “wish” boxes at weddings, but don’t they really all say the same thing? Change it up a little and have an advice box. I can only imagine what some advice would be for a successful marriage!  You will have a great time reading the “advice” later

This was a cute idea, who doesn’t want words of wisdom from family and friends that have been together forever.Ofcourse the great memories to when looking back on your big day. photo by www.dollfacestudio.com

I know your wedding is supposed to be all lovey dovey, but make it fun! Engage your guests and make them really feel a part of your special day. Of course, if you need help with planning, you know who to call!

Jeah and Jack,The Electric City, what a blast! – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

What an amazing wedding this one was. I met Jack and Lean back in February of this year, Leah, originally from the Scranton area and Jack a philly native. The natural thing to do was – bring the Big City to the Electric City! The Lackawanna was an old train station, now a fabulous venue of a fabulous wedding! Leah and Jack didn’t want the “Usual” wedding so un-usual is what we decided. We transformed the ballroom with draping and lighting and to top it off a lounge with plasma tv’s and photo booth. This was no easy task, with a strong attention to detail and an amazing team, we did it in a day and a half.

We first started with a color palette, meeting Leah, she was your girlie-girl with an edge(which I love)! The color of choice was Tiffany Blue and Red. Conceptual Design was next, and who to call other than Vic from VU Lighting. With his vision and experience, the room was mapped out for that day.

Next the flowers, the amazingly wicked Marie Huss, owner of Flower Sculpture, created an ultimate luxe idea for the centerpieces. Roses!!!!! And tons of them.  They consisted of 300 plus roses in 3 different varieties for the large floral sphere, planted on a 48″ opaque white cylinder. Surrounded by 4 delicate spheres consisting of all garden roses nested on custom Tiffany colored vases lit with red lights. Completed with 3 POUNDS of roses petals. Each table of covered with puffed taffeta linens provided by Total Table and white satin napkins tucked with custom menu cards(our gift o the couple). With Leah’s suggestion and vision. Their day came to fruition and with out a hitch.

In this fabulous lounge we had a photo booth provided by our friends at Go Festive and furniture from CORT event. This was a perfect place for the plasma tv playing “Beerfest” per Jack’s request. The best part of the wedding reception was when the couple was introduced to the theme song from “Star Wars” it doesn’t get an awesome than that!!!

My team and I had a blast and will never forget this wedding.

We love you guys

Jose and Natalie part two – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

I met Natalie back in December and we hit it off right away. As many bride’s, Natalie was a full time college student (now a graduate from Rowan U in Education) and lost about where to begin with the planning process. Natalie is your quintessential girlie-girl, and what does your girlie like, PINK!!! I had a blast with Natalie and Jose’s wedding and the conceptual design was even more fun. With every client, I get them involved in the design process. From a mood board to mock up’s and planned execution. This event was perfect. Stay tuned for Natalie and Jose’s wedding. I would also like to add about this special couple. I have never met such a loving and beautiful family. And I was honored to have planned the most happiest day of their lives. Congrats Guys!

The Table scape for the Reception was beautiful. Ballerina Pink Ribbon Taffeta overlays with Garden Fuchsia pink satin napkins. My assistant and I had folded each one and set up this room in 3 hours. I was perfect. The Flowers were magnificent. A variety of 9 flowers placed on a 36″ cylinder with crystal dripping inside. Custom table cards and motives completed the look. Designed by Angela MALICKI events

Lighting and Design provided by Angela MALICKI events. I had created their logo identity and this was carried through out the event from invites, programs, place cards, table signs and Gobo. It made their own. I had hand drawn the logo from a photo of Nat’s wedding dress. Go figure!
