Katrina + Scott – Crystal Tea Room – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

Back in May, Trina and Scott wed on the perfect Saturday afternoon. We met the couple last year over the summer and we were excited to assist them with their planning process. The wedding day started out at the Downtown Marriott, with Trina and the girls fresh from Ettore with hair and make up completed, sipping on champagne and ready to slip into their dresses. The bridemaids wore beautiful purple Bill Levkoff dresses that matched perfectly with the wedding color palette.

Ashley and the bridesmaid’s assisted Trina, as she stepped into her stunning Maggie Sottero Gown. (After purchasing her gown, Trina handed Scott a bridal magazine and had him choose a gown that he might like, and ironically, he chose that very one – it was meant to be!)  Her look was completed with her something borrowed, her mothers diamonds. Absolutely fabulous!

Kevin York, owner of Kevin York Photography and his team documented their entire event and captured many special moments. My favorite, the reveal. The couple met in the lobby at the Marriott by the escalators, it was such a touching moment seeing their reaction to each other for the first time.  Kevin and the couple decided to head to the Art Museum for group pictures. They rented a few buses from Philadelphia Trolley Works to take them around the city – a wedding party bus of their own!

After portraits, we headed to Tenth Presbyterian Church for the ceremony. Trina had a surprise for all - a horse and carriage brought her and her father to the church which later the new couple rode in. The ceremony took place in this gorgeous church which was filled with family and friends. It was smooth sailing from here. The bridal party looked amazing walking down the aisle, the moment we all been waiting for. Trina and her dad walking down the aisle, she looked like a princess!

Once ceremony was over, the buses shuttled all guests to the Wanamaker Building, where the reception took place in the breath-taking Crystal Tea Room. If you never have been to this venue, please make your way down there during the holidays. You will LOVE it! The room looked spectacular, Carl Alan designed all the centerpieces consisting of orchids, roses, hydrangea and other seasonal flowers. Something that I loved with their seating was the two large family tables that seated sixteen. This is a great idea especially for those larger families that you don’t want to break up.

Cocktail hour was kicking, Jason, owner of Synergetic Sounds, kept the music at a perfect tempo while guests enjoyed the delicious hor’dorves and sipping on the couples signature drink.

We met Trina and Scott last year right when they became newly engaged. Their planning started right away and we are thrilled to be a part of that process. The couple will wed next week on Saturday May28th, ceremony will take place at The Tenth on Delancy and the Reception at the Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker Building. I always ask my clients, “So, how did you guys meet”? I have heard it all kinds of stories, funny, happy, and emotional. I usually write a little bio on each couple, but this time, I left it to them. Enjoy their wonderful story and how they came to be.

The first time we met was at the rehearsal for the wedding of my college friend and her college roommate in July 2006.  We were both in the wedding party, and we were paired to walk together.  Despite the fact that we each knew the bride and groom very well, we had never been introduced.  We casually flirted a bit that night, and then continued our flirtation the following night at the wedding (where Trina engineered the order of the wedding party so that she and I would be ensured of walking together).  After all, I escorted the lady down the aisle — I could at least be a gentleman and show her a good time.  From that point on, we were virtually inseparable.
After almost 4 years together in June of last year, I came home early one day, prepared our favorite meal, turned down the lights, lit candles, and waited.  When Trina came home, I got down on one knee, read her a poem I’d written, presented her with the ring and asked her to marry me.  She said yes, and now we’re looking forward to a long, happy and blessed life together!
