Go Green This Spring – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

Happy (belated) St. Patrick’s Day!

This celebrated Irish day is recognized everywhere from Australia to Japan, so why not add a little green to your day today? In honor of this splendid, over-the-top holiday of St. Patrick’s day, lets discuss a little bit about what is going to be (and already has been) seen a lot in the fashion world this season: you guessed it, the color green.

This color is so versatile that you can have a completely different effect on your wardrobe just based on what colors or accessories you pair it with. Many brides love the earthy tones and peacefulness that go hand in hand with green. Outdoor wedding? Showcase the beautiful green trees by stringing lights throughout the branches. Indoor wedding? Bring nature indoors with an assortment of large blooming showers decorated by their green foliage. There are so many subtle ways of including the color green to really showcase other elements of your wedding: guests’ tables, the hors d’oeuvres section, take home goodie bags, the list is endless!

I’m sure you all were decked out in your favorite green attire Saturday, and so were some of our favorite celebrities. Kate Middleton looked beautiful (as usual) in a forest green coat dress with black pumps and matching black belt. Is there any thing she can’t pull off?? And even the little starlets are getting into the green action. Will Smith’s daughter, Willow, was seen walking in the streets of NYC shopping with her mother, with green hair. Everyone who’s anyone knows what the color can do to add a little more fun to your daily routine outfit or create an instantly classic look.

Loving the green fashion for 2012.

This color is fabulous because it can range anywhere from an Oscar-worthy, elegant emerald gown to a casual, laid-back T that adds a pop of color to go with any pair of jeans. And speaking of the Oscar’s, many famous celebrities were seen wearing the hottest shades of the color at the 2012 Academy Awards including: nominee Viola Davis wearing a gorgeous deep amethyst color Vera Wang strapless gown, nominee Glenn Close adorned in a dark forest green Zac Posen tight-knit dress with matching blazer, and Maria Menounos looking like a Greek goddess in a sea-foam green, flowing Maria Lucia Hohan design.

Looking for a more wearable way to showcase this color? How about a pair of bright, mint green jean shorts paired with a flowy white shirt and leather belt? Mint green will be popping up in almost all genres of fashion this summer. You will see the color being added to chunky bangles for an extra pop of color or large cocktail rings. Regardless, with a long, hot summer stretched out before us, you will definitely be able to add a cool, refreshing color like this to your wardrobe.

How about if you want to add a little pop of color to your daily routine without buying a new outfit? One of the hottest 2012 trends is a soft green nail polish. “2012 is all about the color green,” says Essie founder Essie Weingarten. “There’s something really special about it, so you’re going to see a lot of it”. You will see everything from a cool, crisp blue-green that pairs excellently with that fresh-from-the-beach tan, to the more subdued pistachio/olive tones. Either on your fingers or on your toes the right shade of green can catch anyone’s attention. Be on the lookout for Essie’s new color that came out in February called “Navigate Her” or Butter London’s “Slapper”, a fun teal that would be perfect with an eyelet dress and your favorite pair of wedges.

Another trend that has been seen everywhere from your neighborhood to the high-end fashion runway is color blocking. Green looks fabulous paired with a a bright red/orange or even some purple jewel tones. My favorite look was Camilla Belle’s Gucci ensemble showcasing a deep purple shirt under an orange blazer with high waisted, tapered green pants. You can also “spice up” an ordinary jean and t-shirt ensemble with a cute pair of pumps! Via Spiga ‘Dale’ Wedge in “grass” might just be the perfect summer wedge you’ve been looking for.

NEW’S FROM ANG! – Happy Thanksgiving 2011 – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

Wow, November is coming to an end with Thanksgiving next week and holiday right around the corner. Looking back this year, I have many things to be thankful for including God, my supportive family, my friends, amazing clients and professional partners. With out them I would not be here today without their advice, shoulder to lean on, and “getting back on the bus” mentality.
I am mostly grateful for growing up with a strong willed – entrepreneurial father, who never gave up and worked hard for his family and built his business with patience and perseverance – thanks dad!
I am thankful for many accomplishments and achievements that have put us on the map and expanded our business. There is only moving forward and not looking back.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Tis The Season – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI Events

With Halloween over and Thanksgiving just a couple of weeks away, it is time to start thinking about the upcoming Holiday season.  November and December is filled to the brim with Holiday parties, shopping and decorating that it’s hard to find time to just enjoy that peppermint mocha you have been waiting all year for. We are here to tell you that this year Angela MALICKI events would like to alleviate all that stress in your life and help you with your various holiday tasks.  I don’t mean that we can cook that Thanksgiving turkey for you or shop for your sons Christmas presents, but we can plan that Holiday party you have always wanted to throw or decorate your home to look like a winter wonderland.

We know how arduous it is to carry all those decoration boxes up from the basement, and getting your husband to help decorate is next to impossible when the game is on. So instead, relax, and let us  do the dirty work and decorate your home from top to bottom. We would love the opportunity to show our design skills and to come into your house to decorate for this upcoming holiday season. Everything from top to bottom can be/will be decorated and you will swear that Christmas elfs have come into your home and performed this wintry transformation. While we are available to do the entire interior, those outside holiday globes and icicle lights are best left to your husband once the game is finally over. We promise once we have decorated your home with holiday flair, you will begin to ask yourself why you haven’t hired us ages ago.

In addition to “decking the halls,” we are also available to plan and throw holiday parties. We use the same design aspect we do in everyone’s home to throw glamorous and sparkling holiday affairs. Being that we are first and foremost an events company, we have the experience to throw that holiday party you have always wanted to and we are positive we know how to make your friends jealous. Whether you want us to plan the whole evening or just be in the background the day of, we are able and willing to assist you in whatever party needs you may need.

The months of November and December are some of the most exciting and hectic months of the year, so before it gets even busier, grab those adorable Starbucks holiday cups and enjoy that peppermint mocha you have been waiting all year for.

Be sure to check us out in Philadelphia Magazine next month, in their Holiday Gift Guide section, along with other local business owners.

NEWS FROM ANG! – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

October in full swing and I’m loving every minute of it. I love this month for many reasons, the most recent one, I got married on a perfect Sunday afternoon to my best friend 4 years ago, Bridal Fashion Week for 2012, I will say it again, THE FASHION, the change of weather, and one of my favorite holidays, Halloween – candy corn is my favorite, tri color!
A few quick, easy decorating  and entertaining tricks that you can easily master. Your guests will think you hired a planner!
  • Choose an area where you love to entertain – living Room, dining room or even outside. Clear a table and create a focal point where you will have your fall cocktails, festive bites and decorative lifestyle.
  • Visit your local farmer’s market, supermarket or my go to place – Produce Junction. Pick up several mini pumpkins (orange, ghost and tiger), gourds, mini mums and kale plants.
  • Pull out those glass pitchers you have in storage that you received as a wedding/ house warming gift, fill them with mini pumpkins – single color in two and tiger in the other. Add a contemporary runner or festive mat to add more color. Candles – add light with votive or candle sticks
  • Try something different with your cocktails, a Grey Goose Pumpkin Patch Martini, Spiced Cider and Cognac martini or the old stand by Apple Martini!.
  • Another quick and easy recipe that can be made in advance are cute Pumpkin Tartes. So simple to make, needed is frozen phyllo shells, pumpkin mix (follow directions on can), fill shells, bake in oven. done – top of with whipped cream and enjoy.
Thanks to M Restaurant at the Morris House Hotel
for this quick recipe.
Treat yourself to dinner and at this fabulous restaurant and enjoy their seasonal menu and desserts.
On a serious note, it’s Breast Cancer Awareness month, early detection and prevention is key. A few precautions to take are, limiting your alcohol intake, diet, daily activity and avoiding environmental pollution just to name a few.
Did you know: In 1993, Evelyn Lauder – VP of the Estee Lauder Companies, founded  The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and established the “Pink Ribbon” as its symbol. In 1991 Susan G Komen first introduced the ribbon, handing them out to participants at the New York race for breast cancer survivors.
Shop and give back
Several designers are giving back and proceeds of their specialty products are donated to charity.
Including, Ralph Lauren, Estee Lauder, OPI, Bobbi Brown, Bloomingdale’s, Target, Kitchen Aid( I have the pink mixer), and Lily Pulitzer to name a few.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Ahh Thanksgiving, the early rise of cooking the famous bird, setting the table with the “Good Stuff”, family coming over reminiscing about the good ol’days and the all the non-stop football games on the T.V. Memories. Most importantly, Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what matters to most – Being Thankful! We would like to thank all of our past and future clients for letting us be part of their special day and  ”their” memories. I, would like to thank my FABULOUS team, without them I could not do what I do with out them. The hours and dedication that they put into the designing and coordination, words can not describe my gratitude. Also, AME’s new addition, Zeke, our graphic design assistant has been a blessing with his talent and patience. I can not thank you enough. To all the talented and amazing professionals that we have worked with and will be working with, you have made our job exciting and fun, most important of all, the friendship that was gained afterwards.Lastly, my husband and family. You have been a great support through the years with advice and business succession. You constantly keep me focused on doing what I do best-designing.

To everyone  - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
