The Knot Party, Cocktails & Connections – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

I love the vibrant colors!

Tis the season for event professionals! We were thrilled and honored to plan the annual The Knot/The Bump Party-Cocktails and Connections Party! We joined the many Philadelphia and South Jersey event professionals this year at the sheek and fabulous venue, Front & Palmer, located in the up and coming South Kensington! This annual event was formed to simply say…Thank You!

Fabulous and Chic!

When we were asked to plan this event back in January, we knew that we had no time to waste! Our team was so excited and ready to take on this fantastic event. Our vision for the event was urban chic since the location is a bit industrial. In that case, we really wanted to bring out some bling! We decided to go with the colors of the season, tangerine and teal, to give the space a splash of some vibrant colors!  We also added fabulous sleek lounge furniture to give the venue a fun, yet relaxing feel! Transforming spaces is something we really love to do and take pride in doing so. Front & Palmer has an old city feel and we really wanted to jazz it up with some amazing decor!

When guests entered the lobby, a beautiful display provided by Robertson’s Flowers welcomed everyone along with our letterpress programs which were handed out to the guests!

The guests were greeted by our fabulous team Ashley and Eric!

Signature cocktails!

The chic event was filled with delicious food, classy cocktails, event professionals, and most importantly fabulous vendors. Front & Palmer was the most ideal spot for this wonderful party with the stylish loft that featured fresh beats by DJ Bizz of CTO Artists. The loft also included mouth watering food by Feast Your Eyes Catering which guests truly enjoyed. Guests also relaxed in the lounge where heavenly desserts were baked by Feast Your Eyes Catering and Ciao Bella Cakes. There were so many amazing moments of this party that no one will forget! One moment of the night most will truly remember was the photo booth! Compliments of Shutterbooth, they provided us with a fun photobooth for all of our guests to enjoy! Signature cocktails, served by St. Germain, were also enjoyed by guests along with fabulous finger foods and delicious desserts! Each detail of this event was captured by the talented and amazing Sweetwater Portraits by Julie Melton and documented by luxury filmmaker Damon Dietz, owner of Absolute Media Productions!

The colors were fabulous! Linens provided by Select Event Rentals!

Beautiful decor provided by Busybee Home Store & Design Center, On Q Productions, and Select Event Rentals!

Delicious and mouth-watering food provided by Feast Your Eyes Catering and Ciao Bella Cakes

Everyone having a great time!

Good people, good times!

A Workout For Any Body (type) – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela Malicki

New Years has come and gone, and statistics say that by far the biggest goal society sets for itself is pertaining to weight loss/becoming healthier. That sounds fantastic, right? Except that year after year, we are continuing on a downwards slope into child obesity, diabetes, and overall unhealthy tendencies. It’s easy to promise yourself you are going to start eating healthy… starting tomorrow. But what about when you’ve worked late, don’t feel like cooking, and that extra-large double cheeseburger with bacon commercial pops into your head?

Even if eating healthy isn’t your strong suit, everyone can benefit from being a little more active. With summer just around the corner there are new and exciting ways to get you off that couch (you’ve already seen that episode of Maury anyway) and into a fun workout regimen, even if it doesn’t feel like you’re working out!

Pure Barre combines Pilates with moves seen in ballet. It is a great way to start toning up your body and losing extra inches, and you will start seeing improvements almost immediately! This workout is fantastic for those who want to sculpt abs, hips, arms, and their bottom. And not only are you working out your body, but you will leave a session feeling more relaxed and calm. According to the founders of Pure Barre, “the workout requires such focus that you block ‘life’ out for the hour allowing you to obtain the mental benefits achieved in yoga or meditation”. Sounds perfect.

Another new workout routine that is becoming a huge hit is something called the Lithe workout. There are many different exercises within Lithe but one of the most popular involves hoisting your body up in the air using bands attached to the ceiling. This is a fantastic workout for your core and also your arms! Similar to Pure Barre, Lithe has so many different workout plans you will be able to personalize what you want no matter if you’re a rookie or an expert.

And I’m sure many of you have already heard of the new, fast-paced sensation taking over a lot of gyms: Zumba. It involves many different forms of salsa, hip hop, martial arts, samba, and even a touch of belly dancing. Zumba will get your heart pumping and you’ll lose those calories before you even realized it! This is a great idea for those who “hate working out”, grab a few girl friends and enroll in a class! You can lose yourself in the music and not even realize the session is over until the music has stopped and realize you’re the only way still shaking your hips.

Summer brides still have plenty of time to get in shape before your big day. For the extra motivation and get the most out of a workout, when you don’t have tons of time think about doing a few sessions with a personal trainer. Explain what you want to focus on and when your wedding date is so they know ahead of time your goals and schedule. A lot of gyms actually have training packages created for brides and their whole wedding party. If a personal trainer seems a little out of your price range, grab your brides maids and see if the gym will offer you a discount if you all want a session. A lot of times, trainers can offer you a deal or even a free session if you refer someone to them, and you’re whole bridal party will feel and look beautiful on your wedding day! Angela has actually started a fantastic workout routine with a fantastic trainer and is already feeling better and seeing results. If you live in the Philadelphia area and are looking for trainer who is motivating and enthusiastic, email Jay Nelson at jaysinternet@msn.com. Angela personally recommends him herself!

Hope to see you all out and about this spring/summer!

Xoxo

Go Green This Spring – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

Happy (belated) St. Patrick’s Day!

This celebrated Irish day is recognized everywhere from Australia to Japan, so why not add a little green to your day today? In honor of this splendid, over-the-top holiday of St. Patrick’s day, lets discuss a little bit about what is going to be (and already has been) seen a lot in the fashion world this season: you guessed it, the color green.

This color is so versatile that you can have a completely different effect on your wardrobe just based on what colors or accessories you pair it with. Many brides love the earthy tones and peacefulness that go hand in hand with green. Outdoor wedding? Showcase the beautiful green trees by stringing lights throughout the branches. Indoor wedding? Bring nature indoors with an assortment of large blooming showers decorated by their green foliage. There are so many subtle ways of including the color green to really showcase other elements of your wedding: guests’ tables, the hors d’oeuvres section, take home goodie bags, the list is endless!

I’m sure you all were decked out in your favorite green attire Saturday, and so were some of our favorite celebrities. Kate Middleton looked beautiful (as usual) in a forest green coat dress with black pumps and matching black belt. Is there any thing she can’t pull off?? And even the little starlets are getting into the green action. Will Smith’s daughter, Willow, was seen walking in the streets of NYC shopping with her mother, with green hair. Everyone who’s anyone knows what the color can do to add a little more fun to your daily routine outfit or create an instantly classic look.

Loving the green fashion for 2012.

This color is fabulous because it can range anywhere from an Oscar-worthy, elegant emerald gown to a casual, laid-back T that adds a pop of color to go with any pair of jeans. And speaking of the Oscar’s, many famous celebrities were seen wearing the hottest shades of the color at the 2012 Academy Awards including: nominee Viola Davis wearing a gorgeous deep amethyst color Vera Wang strapless gown, nominee Glenn Close adorned in a dark forest green Zac Posen tight-knit dress with matching blazer, and Maria Menounos looking like a Greek goddess in a sea-foam green, flowing Maria Lucia Hohan design.

Looking for a more wearable way to showcase this color? How about a pair of bright, mint green jean shorts paired with a flowy white shirt and leather belt? Mint green will be popping up in almost all genres of fashion this summer. You will see the color being added to chunky bangles for an extra pop of color or large cocktail rings. Regardless, with a long, hot summer stretched out before us, you will definitely be able to add a cool, refreshing color like this to your wardrobe.

How about if you want to add a little pop of color to your daily routine without buying a new outfit? One of the hottest 2012 trends is a soft green nail polish. “2012 is all about the color green,” says Essie founder Essie Weingarten. “There’s something really special about it, so you’re going to see a lot of it”. You will see everything from a cool, crisp blue-green that pairs excellently with that fresh-from-the-beach tan, to the more subdued pistachio/olive tones. Either on your fingers or on your toes the right shade of green can catch anyone’s attention. Be on the lookout for Essie’s new color that came out in February called “Navigate Her” or Butter London’s “Slapper”, a fun teal that would be perfect with an eyelet dress and your favorite pair of wedges.

Another trend that has been seen everywhere from your neighborhood to the high-end fashion runway is color blocking. Green looks fabulous paired with a a bright red/orange or even some purple jewel tones. My favorite look was Camilla Belle’s Gucci ensemble showcasing a deep purple shirt under an orange blazer with high waisted, tapered green pants. You can also “spice up” an ordinary jean and t-shirt ensemble with a cute pair of pumps! Via Spiga ‘Dale’ Wedge in “grass” might just be the perfect summer wedge you’ve been looking for.

This post was brought to you by: the color green.

Pinterest, your new obsession -Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela Malicki Events

Hi there!

Want to know 52 ways to use dish washing liquid other than cleaning dishes? How about how to make a dress from an old scarf ? Who wouldn’t like this handy information right at their fingertips? I’m sure most of you by now know what Pinterest is and most likely already have an account, but for those who don’t Pinterest in a website where you can find anything from hair style tutorials to best athletes of 2011. You can collect items that interest you and “pin” them to your virtual pinboard, organizing them in categories such as “dream homes that I would never be able to afford” to “recipes that are 2 million+ calories a bite” and everything in between. If you’re crafty and like DIY projects, Pinterest will be your Heaven. There are hundreds of ideas to keep you busy for hours on a rainy day. Not crafty? How about planning that big day and still need some last minute details to make your wedding one of a kind. Pinterest has an entire wedding and events category including adorable bridesmaid gift ideas (personalized hangers to hang their dresses on- cute!) and creative Save the Date invite ideas.

Imagine all of your brilliant ideas when it comes to your dream wedding in one place! The virtual pin board captures everything from color schemes to dress designs. If you see a dress you like, simply click the image and it will automatically take you to the site where it can be found. Pinterest is a fantastic way to stay on top of the trends and find out what’s popular. You can even search your favorite stylist/celebrity/whoever and find out everything there is about them! Search Kim Kardashian and you’ll find everything from makeup tutorials to the hottest pair of pumps she was last seen in.

Once you see a post you like or find interesting, simply click it and the site will ask if you want to “like” it, “repin”, or “comment”. If you click “repin” you can then choose the board you want to add it to. Everytime you repin a post others who are following you and are on the site will be notified there is a new “pin” on the homepage. Obviously the more diverse your pins and how often you repin, you can gain more followers.

If you are interested in joining you have to submit an invitation and the website typically takes about a week to get back to you (for some odd reason you can’t just click a button to join, you have to request an invite and wait for them to respond). If you are really impatient like me, find a friend who has a Pinterest account and ask them to email you an invite and you will be able to log in right then and there.

Happy Pinning!

xoxo

Destination Aloha, In Philly? – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

Close your eyes… think lounging on the beach in your own cabana, sipping on your Mai Tai with those cute little umbrella straws hanging over the side. Can you hear the ocean waves rolling onto the beach? The warm water barely coming up to your toes, which are now slowly digging deeper and deeper into that soft, powder-like sand. Got that image in your head?

Now open your eyes. As your staring at your computer screen in the corner of your work cubicle realizing how nice it would be to get away, I have one question for you- who wouldn’t want to go to Hawaii for vacation this year? Oh, can’t afford the $1,500, 24 hour round trip, plane tickets? Don’t have time to take off a week from your over-demanding job? Suddenly all relatives are MIA when needing someone to watch your three, darling children?

What’s the next best thing? Why, the Hawaii Islands of Aloha themed Philadelphia Flower Show of course! Starting at $27 a pop, tickets are much more affordable than that 12 hour plane ticket (and the commute should be a little easier for you too). And the best part is, the whole family can come! If that doesn’t do it for you, know that all proceeds from the show help out the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Taking a mini Hawaiian vacation AND helping a good cause? Well that’s just a win/win for everyone.

The Philadelphia Flower Show truly has something for everyone. Doors of the Pennsylvania Convention Center open Sunday, March 4 at 8am and close Sunday, March 11 at 6pm. Sprinkled throughout the week are “themed nights” ranging from LGBT Night Out on Monday to Girls Night Out later in the week on Thursday. You can even meet Bethenny Frankel  on Saturday and try out some of her new Skinny Girl Cocktails. For those of us who have kids, during the weekends are events geared to a younger crowd, and how about the men in our lives?? Well for them, the ultimate Man Cave was created including table games sponsored by SugarHouse Casino, virtual competitions of Tiger Wood’s PGA, and projection screens broadcasting Sixers and Flyers games (surround sound included).

And guess who will be attending Wedding Wednesday? Of course Angela and her crew wouldn’t miss an event like this! Sponsored by Philadelphia Wedding, this event is held Wednesday from 5:30-8:30pm. Make sure to check out our table display, featuring custom-made stationary from Angela’s new line, Titus Print! There will be champagne, complimentary appetizers, and of course all types of flower displays, as well as DIY Bouquet stations hosted by Philadelphia Wedding’s Carrie Denny, and flower arranging demonstrations by Flowers by David and Robertson’s Flowers.

Hope to see you there!

Love Scavenger Hunt, Valentine’s Day Part 12, Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

graphic designed by titus print www.titusprint.com

OK, I know this has been done before, but keeping the romance spicy and on the ball is alot of work. A scavenger hunt is a creative way for you to express your gratitude and love on Valentine’s Day.  When designing your hunt, make sure you choose locations that are close your where you live and ask the business owner first if they are cool with the idea. Have items pre selected for your Valentine and paid for in advance for pick up.

Where do you being…

Start with your residence – Have a box wrapped for her/him to go with the first location listed or hint.

Once he/she made it to their destination, another clue and their gift will be waiting.

You get the idea. Trust me it’s a fun and creative way to keep your love on their toes.

WHATEVER I want for a Year – Valentine’s Day part 10 – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

DIY Valentine's Day Coupons

I remember one of my “past” Valentine bought me these “coupons” from a local card store. And I thought, this is cheezy – but cute. Later on, I put a twist of my own on them when giving them to my Valentine. I thought of the little things that he might like and incorporated it into a note card.

These came in handy for certain requests. Ofcourse, he always wanted to use the same one over and over again – we can figure out which one!

These were real easy to make:

Hand Draw a heart of cute image

Use a scanner to import it in your computer.

Set up document to 4.25×5.5 and place image where ever you prefer

Set up text and the rest is up to you.

Depending on the program, set up document with four copies – print and cut to size

If you want to make it a little cuter, add a colored stock for the backing and tie with ribbon.

Hopefully this was easy for you!
